‘Spider-Man 4‘ is a highly anticipated movie among the Marvel fans. The last ‘Spider-Man’ movie created many opportunities for crossovers, and multiverse chaos, with endless storyline options. Despite fans wanting the film, there is one person connected with the franchise who doesn’t see the movie happening. The first Mary Jane, Kirsten Dunst doesn’t think the world needs a ‘Spider-Man 4′.
During an interview with IndieWire, Dunst was asked about her interest in returning to the Spider-Man franchise. To this, the actress replied, “Depends, “It would depend. I don’t know. Honestly, do we need it?” Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man returned after a long time in the Spidey verse in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, all credit to the multiverse madness, and Dunst wanted to be a part of it. This opens the doors to the possibility of his Spider-Man movie. But now Mary Jane thinks otherwise.
The actress continued, “I don’t think we need that. I don’t know. It was so long ago. I just don’t know how they would, what the story would be. I don’t know.” She added, “It would really depend on the script, and also, I don’t know, you’re putting yourself out there in a way that … let’s maybe leave things when they were good. You know what I mean?”
Kirsten Dunst clearly explained that she doesn’t see herself being a part of the film anymore. Despite facing much backlash about her remarks on the Spider-Man movie, Dunst seems to express her opinions clearly.
Will There Be A ‘Spider-Man 4’ Movie?
With the concept of a Multiverse, characters from both reality and the past are crossing each other’s paths. It would be no surprise if Marvel added Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or Kirsten Dunst back in the Spider-Man franchise. The upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4’ could pave the way for all the possibilities in the universe.
Director Sam Raimi addressed the rumors related to the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4′ during an interview with CBR. He expressed his desire to return with Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man but he isn’t currently working on this project. ‘Spider-Man 4′ allows Marvel to have limitless storytelling potential, but official confirmation is yet to be made about the production of the movie.
