“I Think It’s 100% Both”: Chris Pratt Is Ready To Return As Marvel’s Star-Lord And Also Join James Gunn’s DCU

Chris Pratt has been part of many franchises over the years. From ‘Jurassic World’ franchise to ‘Super Mario‘, Pratt has shown a wide range of variety in his roles. Pratt is widely known for his portrayal as Star-Lord in Marvel Studio’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ series.

The writer-director of Guardians Of The Galaxy, James Gunn is now heading the DCU after the below-average run of DC Extended Universe. James Gunn happens to be on great terms with the stars of GOTG and many wondered if they will come in Gunn’s DCU projects. Recently, Chris Pratt commented on this.

During a recent interview with ComicBook, Chris Pratt was asked if he would return as Star-Lord or would he join DCU headed by his friend James Gunn. Pratt being Pratt, said there is a possibility that he will star in both universes.

Pratt said, “Well, it probably make more sense that I would be Star-Lord again. But anything is possible, and especially with James over at DC. Maybe there’s something that would be right over there. Maybe both. How about both? Let’s do both. I think it’s 100% both.

James Gunn has already started to build DCU from scratch and it will start with ‘Superman: Legacy‘. Gunn’s past projects in DC, the 2021 movie ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Peacemaker’ TV series were well-received. With more movies planned in future, Pratt may bag a good role in DCU.

Dave Bautista, who played Drax in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ has already talked about him potentially jumping ships to DCU. Fans believe that Bautista will be a great Bane for future Batman movies.

    When Can Star-Lord Return?

Fans last saw Pratt as Star-Lord in the 2023’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3’. At the end of the movie, Star-Lord takes a break from his team and returns to Earth to spend some more time with his grandfather.

After the post-credit scene, the cut scene flashes“The Legendary Star-Lord will return.” With Star-Lord currently on Earth, there is a possibility that he might appear in a non-GOTG movie. However, in the current line of revealed projects, the only movie fans can bet money on him appearing is the ‘Avengers 5’.

Marvel might give Peter Quill his own solo movie or TV series taking inspiration from his comic book run of 2014-2016. In comic book series ‘The Legendary Star-Lord’ he also leaves behind his team to embark on a solo journey. The title already was seen in the ending of ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3’, it might be a tease for this future project.

As for the Guardians, there are so many things to explore currently. They recently added new members, Adam Warlock and a young Phylla-Vell. Adam Warlock is rather a popular character and has appeared in multiple video games such as ‘Marvel Future Fight’. However, Phylla-Vell is known to a very niche comic book audience. She wields the quantum bands after Quasar. So it can be the start of a new Guardians Of The Galaxy team.

They can recruit members like Nova(Richard Rider), or Beta-Ray Bill. MCU has already revealed that they are working on a ‘Nova‘ TV series. So it is inevitable that Richard Rider will appear with Guardians at some point.
