Despite several setbacks, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not slowed down. With the decreased quality of the storyline, problematic VFX, and superhero fatigue, the fans have grown tired of their beloved superhero film. However, the announcement of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ ignited the spark among the Marvel fanatics.
Bob Iger, the Disney boss has come up with a solution after spending time with Marvel filmmaker, figuring a room for improvement that might help fans get over their superhero fatigue.
Bob Iger Revealed His Masterplan For MCU’s Current Problem
While speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, the Disney CEO revealed that he has made several calls and was also forced to cut off several projects, keeping in mind the integrity of the brand. Bob Iger said, “I’ve been spending a lot of time with the creators, watching these films, giving detailed notes in these films, engaging in a respectful process that results in improvement.”
Although the Disney boss does not support the idea of superhero fatigue, instead he addresses the true nightmare for the franchise saying, “A lot of people think it’s audience fatigue. It’s not audience fatigue.”
He further added, “They want great films. And if you build it great, they will come and there are countless examples of that. Some are ours and some are others’. Oppenheimer is a perfect example of that. Just a fantastic film. Focus is really important. We reduced the output of Marvel, both number of films they make and the number of TV shows, and that really becomes critical, but I feel good about the team. I feel good about the IP we’re making. I talked about a lot of the projects. We look years ahead, really. And it’s iterative. And again, the track record speaks for itself.”
