Marvel may have dropped a very big hint about Loki‘s fate in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. A new theory claims that the enigmatic visuals around Doctor Doom may indicate that he met the God of Stories, and may even provide insight into how Doom is able to defeat him.

It would be hard to believe that Loki could just walk away from his role as the God of Stories. He literally holds the multiverse together with the Multiversal Tree. That’s where the theory starts to get interesting.

Some people have already wondered about the possibility of Loki having lost his powers due to the teaser showing a glimpse of him in TVA-style attire.  The theory suggests Doom could have somehow defeated Loki and taken control of his magical abilities.

There’s also a possible visual hint: Doom is seated on a throne with magical-looking runes around it, and green energy is visible throughout the scene. Green has always been strongly associated with Loki. So, it’s no wonder that fans are making the connection.

The context in which the setting occurs can be even more important. Behind Doom’s throne is the green light, which has led people to wonder if the Multiversal Tree might have something to do with it. The ramifications would be massive if Doom somehow made it to Loki’s world.

Loki is no longer just another strong character. He is someone who’s keeping the timelines from splitting apart. If Doom takes his power away, then it will be immediately clear just how dangerous this villain is.

The theory also applies to Doom’s possible appearance in ‘Doomsday’. If he’s gathering powers from strong beings from the multiverse, then Loki, Wanda and Doctor Strange would all be very valuable targets.

But if Marvel really is hiding Loki’s defeat in plain sight, those mysterious green lights around Doom’s throne could end up being one of the biggest clues in the entire movie.
