Marvel Studios Finally Reveals Connections Between Iron Man And Ironheart’s Story Arcs

Among the many Marvel heroes, Riri Williams is one promising addition to the MCU family, who appeared in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. Following the footsteps of Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark, Riri Williams is a teenage genius who engineered vibranium-detecting technology.

However, Riri Williams and Tony Stark have numerous similarities, especially with the use of advanced technology. With the heroic sacrifice of Tony Stark in ‘Avengers: End Game’, it is only Riri Williams who can continue his legacy.

A Marvel Studios creative confirms a direct link between Ironheart and Toyn Stark, although both the heroes have not shared the screen yet, there is an explanation that explains their connection.

Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – The Art of the Movie’ book confirms that Riri Williams was aware of and influenced by Tony Stark’s work, unlike few of the fan theories.

Josh Nizzi, the Visual Development Concept Illustrator of Marvel Studios explained that Riri William’s version of the Mark armor was based on the Iron Man suits developed by Iron Man.

He said, “Riri is obviously aware of his work. She’s got an RT, which is Stark-like technology, but it’s her own version. So the design shows that there’s a level of influence, but she’s doing things her own way.”

Though there is no actual proof that Tony Stark ever met Riri Williams, Marvel can still make it happen through its multiversal timeline or can bring in the AI version of Tony Stark.

In the Marvel comics, Riri was mentored by Tony Stark, whereas, in MCU, Riri Williams made her debut in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, just after Iron Man’s death.

Instead, Shuri mentored Riri, who became MCU’s new Black Panther. Apart from her mentor, another key difference between Ironheart in Marvel Comics and the MCU is that her Mark II armor was made with Wakandan vibranium.

Also in Marvel Comics’ Riri makes her second armor to continue Tony’s legacy, whereas in the MCU, Riri’s Mark II armor is necessary in Wakanda’s fight against Namor.

Shuri and Riri’s partnership is compared to Stark and Steve Rogers’ relationship before ‘Captain America: Civil War’. However, the MCU will feature more of Riri Williams, other than in Ironheart, potentially in Armor Wars, ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ or ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.
