While Marvel Boss Kevin Feige recently announced that the MCU will scale back on the number of shows it produces, a few highly anticipated series that were already in development before the strikes are still moving forward.
Among them is ‘Wonder Man’, a live-action series centered on Simon Williams. Fans can expect the show to be both a satire and a heartfelt tribute to Hollywood. Moreover, Marvel TV Head Brad Winderbaum has shared some exciting details about the show.
Brad Winderbaum Says ‘Wonder Man’ Will Pay Homage To The Source Material
‘Wonder Man‘ will be directed by Destin Cretton and showrunner Andrew Guest, as part of the Marvel Spotlight banner. The show is designed to attract a more mature audience and allow viewers to dive in without extensive MCU knowledge. Recently, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Streaming and Television, offered some insight into the show.
“You know, it’s a two-hander between two amazing characters. There’s this odd couple of Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery, and you get a little bit of a glimpse of that in the trailer,” Brad told Phase Hero Podcast. He also talked about the West Coast Avenger and how their fans can expect something very exciting.
“If you’re a fan of West Coast Avengers and know a little bit about Simon Williams, you’re going to be… I mean, I hope if you’re anything like me, you’re going to be very excited to see how much homage to the source material there is,” he added. According to him, the show is a love letter to Hollywood in several ways.
This statement has sparked even more excitement among fans, as reports have hinted at connections between ‘Wonder Man’, ‘Armor Wars’, and ‘Vision’. This could also potentially lay the groundwork for the formation of the West Coast Avengers. Winderbaum’s emphasis on honoring the source material is very promising for comic book lovers.
Brad Winderbaum Calls ‘Nova’ “Very Unique, Very Cool And Extremely Promising”
Marvel’s ‘Nova’ may finally be on the brink of becoming a reality after being stuck in the development hell for years. The show is set to follow Richard Rider, the last surviving and most powerful member of the Nova Corps. Moreover, the show was rumored to be in development in September, but it faced a lot of uncertainty due to Marvel’s selective production strategy.

Winderbaum’s recent comments on the podcast provide a glimmer of hope. “It’s in development,” he said. “We develop more than we make,” referring to the studio’s history of projects that never see the light of day. However, when asked for more details, he added, “What I’ve seen so far is extremely promising. I will say that.”
Previously, Winderbaum talked about his focus on quality stating that a show wouldn’t happen if they weren’t happy with its pilot. Now, however, his remarks indicate that ‘Nova’ might escape the fate of other projects like ‘Blade’. “The vibe of that show is very unique and very cool,” he concluded.
