Miguel O’Hara and Miles Morales are the two variants of Spider-Man from different universes pitted against each other in ‘Spiderman: Across the Multiverse‘. There’s a scene that ends on a futuristic highway in Nueva York, cutting when Miguel hurls a yelling Miles down, highlighting their conflict.
‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘ post-credits first introduced the fans to Miguel along with his holographic assistant Lyla who informs him that the multiverse hasn’t collapsed despite Kingpin’s actions and the events of the film. Miguel then wears a gadget that allows him to make an autonomous multiverse jump. He uses it to start at the beginning, one last time for some sort of mission which is never disclosed.

Who Is Spider-Man’s New Variant, Miguel O’Hara?
‘Spider-Man: Across Spider-verse‘ trailer revealed many Spider-Man variants including an Indian one from Mumbai – Pavitr Prabhakar, Issa Rae’s Spider-Woman when the leader of the Spider-Verse is introduced. He is a ninja-vampire Spiderman and a very good leader. Miguel O’Hara also goes by the name Spider-Man 2099. As the name suggests he hails from the futuristic version of the Marvel Universe. The Marvel World of 2099 is a dystopian, cyberpunk version of Miles Morales’s current world.
Miguel O’Hara is the head of the genetics program at the powerful corporation Alchemx whose only company is the AI version of Lylla. Alchemax aims to create a new generation of superhumans loyal only to the company. Although Miguel seems to be a tough and arrogant man maybe because he was blackmailed by his boss, Tyler Stone, which leads him to rewrite his own DNA to become a half spider and half man. But most of his powers are similar to that of Peter Parker O’Hara possesses other powers like the ability to see in the dark and venomous fangs.

Miguel O’Hara Vs Miles Morales
Being a hero does not just require power or strength, it also takes the heart to be selfless, kind, and grounded. Sure Miguel O’Hara is a hero and a leader of the Spider-people, but like Miles Morales, he is not concerned with saving his loved ones. All he cares about is the greater good – a lost perspective perhaps. ‘Across the Spider-verse‘ already hinted at a Civil War between Miles and Miguel, and somehow it is difficult to support one since both the variants of Spider-Man seem right from their perspective. Clearly, Miguel is not happy with the choices that Miles makes, projecting Miguel as the anti-hero of the sequel.
The only advantage Miguel O’Hara possesses over Miles Morales is the ability to view in the dark and the venomous fangs and also he is able to communicate with others on a telepathic level. However, Miles not only has the spider senses but also inherits venom power as well including Vemon blast, beam, and punch. Also, Miles can blend into his surroundings giving him an added advantage against his enemies. But since Miguel is from the future, he might have access to all the latest tech, which might make him superior to Spider-Man.
