While ‘VisionQuest’ hasn’t gotten a ton of attention from Marvel Studios, it seems the Disney+ show will not only follow Vision’s journey but also be one of the most significant projects in the run-up to ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.
Why ‘VisionQuest’ Could Be Essential Viewing Before ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

According to Insider Mainmiddleman, the last two episodes of the show are said to have directly paved the way for the MCU’s next big multiversal event, which means Vision’s return is going to be more impactful than some fans had anticipated.

That also makes sense of the fact that the series has an unusually large number of enemies. While previous MCU appearances usually focused on one main antagonist, ‘VisionQuest’ seems to have many different ones.
James Spader will be back as Ultron, marking the villain’s debut in the MCU since ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. It is also rumored that T’Nia Miller’s Jocasta will be a part of the story, and possibly another formidable artificial intelligence linked to Ultron.
However, the technological threats don’t end there. Vision will also have to face mercenaries, like the bounty hunter Paladin, who will be in his comic-inspired style. The addition implies that Vision will not only be battling rogue machines, but also highly trained human adversaries.
The return of another Iron Man villain, Faran Tahir as Raza, adds even more intrigue. It’s an unexpected twist that Marvel could be tying up storylines from across the franchise, seeing one of the MCU’s earliest villains back up in almost 20 years.
Vision Might Have A Bigger Role In MCU’s Future

In the reported ‘Secret Wars’ setup, ‘VisionQuest’ is much more than just another Disney+ series. Since ‘WandaVision’, Vision has been mostly on the sidelines. The series finally provides him with a chance to get back in the center of the MCU.

If the last episodes are indeed a build-up to ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, Vision may be one of the major characters in Marvel’s next major crossover. The return of Ultron, the reintroduction of Iron Man era villains, all suggest a narrative that will tie up various strands of the MCU before the next major confrontation.
After years of wondering where Vision’s journey will take him, fans may finally have an answer, and that may have ramifications that go beyond his own series.
