Spider-Man has been accompanied by superheroes, the Avengers, and even multiversal versions of himself, but his new partner is one of the greatest footballers of all time.
For a fun new promotional trailer of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, Lionel Messi joins Tom Holland for an unexpected adventure through New York City, combining Marvel action with football superstardom.
Lionel Messi Swings Into The MCU Looking For Spider-Man

The promo begins with Peter Parker sitting in a cafe when he sees Lionel Messi stroll in the door. As many fans would do, Peter is momentarily awestruck before introducing himself to the football legend. Peter asks him why Messi is there, and the answer is simple: he’s looking for Spider-Man.

Messi, armed with the Spidey Tracker app for his mobile phone, shows he’s looking for the hero. Peter soon rushes off, transforms into his Spider-Man costume, and heads back to give the World Cup winner what he had been looking for.
The commercial concludes with Spider-Man and Messi swinging across the Manhattan skyline together in a funny scene. Obviously, it’s a promotional clip and not from the actual film. However, it’s a fun crossover of two of the biggest names in the world.
Marvel’s Marketing Campaign For ‘Brand New Day’ Shifts Into High Gear

The promotion is the latest in a series of efforts by Marvel Studios ahead of the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is set to be released in cinemas on May 15. The countdown to opening day has been ongoing, and the studio has been releasing more footage and surprises to keep the anticipation high.

A few big things have already been teased in the recent trailers, like the Savage Hulk’s return and a deeper dive into Sadie Sink’s mysterious character, who has yet to be identified. In addition, Tom Holland has also been making promotional appearances, steering clear of questions that could be considered a spoiler for the MCU.
Although the actor has remained tight-lipped about future crossover projects, his interviews have only added to fans’ curiosity about what’s next for Peter Parker. But for the time being, that’s a lighter tone for Marvel’s campaign.
Spider-Man swinging through Manhattan with Lionel Messi may not give away too much of the story, but it’s the kind of unanticipated pairing that makes for a lot of conversation.
