‘Avengers: Doomsday’ could have a big twist for Thor and Doctor Doom that could alter the entire timeline of the upcoming crossover. The new teaser has fans wondering if the God of Thunder has already faced Robert Downey Jr.’s villain before the Avengers come together to face the threat from the multiverse.
Did Thor’s Earlier Warning Actually Refer To Doctor Doom?

In the teaser, Thor warns that “Doom will tear this world apart” while the New Avengers, Wakandans, Shang-Chi, and Sam Wilson’s team come together at Avengers Tower. The gathering suggests that Earth’s heroes are preparing for something serious. But Thor’s words raise a much bigger question: how does he know what Doom is capable of?

However, if Thor has already seen Doom, then the arrival of the villain could be much sooner than fans realize. Doom doesn’t have to be introduced when the heroes finally meet; he could have been introduced behind the scenes. Maybe Thor’s warning was not so much about incursions, the multiversal collisions that could destroy entire realities, but about something else.
He might have been referring to Doom and the destruction that the enemy can cause. That’s important because Thor has faced great enemies, cosmic threats, and forces that can destroy worlds in the course of centuries. If he has met Doom before, he might be one of the few Avengers who know the threat before they all do.
However, the teaser alone does not confirm that the two characters have fought. Thor could also be warning his fellow heroes based on information he has received rather than personal experience.
Could Doctor Doom Be Behind The Multiversal Chaos From The Beginning?

This theory also ties in with a bigger theory regarding Doom’s part in the movie. One possible plot line is that Doom comes along with the Fantastic Four before heading to an alternate universe where the X-Men live. At first, it seems like an act of desperation to stop things from going out of hand, but in the end Doom may turn out to be the one pulling the strings.

If Thor has already encountered him, that encounter could provide an early glimpse of Doom’s intentions and establish the threat before the Avengers understand what they are facing. It would also make Thor a more significant part of the battle, especially with his experience.
Marvel might use Thor’s warning to set up the fact that the battle against Doom started before the Avengers came together. And if that’s the case, the team meeting could be more about dealing with the damage he has done than preparing for his arrival.
