“As any actor my age will tell you, there are fewer and fewer available roles as we get older. That being said, I still continue to receive interesting offers, and I love being challenged by new work. I can’t imagine ever officially “retiring.” I’ll always and forever be an actor,” he told Tvinsider.
This was in reply to months of speculation about his next move online, especially after it was revealed that he would play Professor Charles Xavier again. The role has become one of the most iconic in Stewart’s career, starting with the 2000 X-Men, and continuing through various movies in the last 20 years.
