Marvel fans hoping to see Vision reunite with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ might have to wait a little longer for an answer. Paul Bettany, who has portrayed the synthezoid since ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, has addressed speculation about his potential involvement in the upcoming blockbuster.

However, he’s keeping his cards close to his chest.

With Marvel assembling an enormous roster of heroes for its next Avengers movie, Vision’s absence from the confirmed cast has raised some questions. After all, he’s one of the franchise’s most powerful characters, and his story is far from straightforward following the events of ‘WandaVision’.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Bettany was asked about his possible appearance in the film. Rather than confirming or denying anything, the actor made it clear that revealing such information could put his future with Marvel at risk.

“I’m just trying to keep the kids in shoes, and if I tell you that, I’ll get fired,” Bettany joked. He added that the decision was ultimately up to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito.

Although Marvel has already announced a massive cast for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, there’s reason to believe the studio isn’t revealing everything just yet. The film is expected to bring together characters from across the MCU, including Thor, Steve Rogers, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and several familiar faces from the original X-Men movies.

Robert Downey Jr. will also return to Marvel in a very different role, playing Doctor Doom. Given Vision’s history with the Avengers, his potential return wouldn’t feel out of place. However, Marvel has yet to officially announce his involvement in the December 18, 2026 release.

Interestingly, Bettany also shared a funny glimpse into his life outside the MCU. Despite playing Vision for years, the actor apparently doesn’t get much respect from his children when it comes to his superhero credentials.

Bettany joked that whenever he logs into Disney+, his kids change his profile name and use a picture of him as Vision with the words “The Worst Avenger” underneath. It’s a hilarious contrast to the character’s importance in the MCU.
