Bucky Barnes fans may have just got another reason to worry about ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, thanks to Sebastian Stan. The actor was recently asked about fans’ worries regarding Bucky’s fate, and his reply only further fueled speculation.
Sebastian Stan’s Cryptic Bucky Comments
“We have to learn to live with uncertainty. You want to be surprised, right?” he shared. That alone doesn’t confirm Bucky is dying, but combined with Stan’s growing involvement with DC, it has sparked an intriguing theory about whether the Winter Soldier’s MCU journey could be nearing its end.

Stan’s response is particularly intriguing because Marvel has been very tight-lipped about ‘Doomsday’. The actor didn’t shrug off fears about Bucky; instead, he encouraged fans to embrace the uncertainty. That may simply be a coincidence.
Obviously, actors are not supposed to give away spoilers, and Stan may just be playing with the speculation. Yet, Bucky is at a stage where his death is not just poignant, but it’s real. He was once a brainwashed assassin, but has spent years trying to rebuild his life and become a hero on his own terms. If ‘Doomsday’ were to end that journey, it would certainly hurt.
Is Stan Quietly Moving Toward DC?
The theory gets more interesting when the next major project of Sebastian Stan comes into the picture. While discussing his move into ‘The Batman Part II’, Stan revealed that he had already been reaching out to James Gunn about working with DC and making it clear that he was available.

There’s another strange thing. ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is rumored to be in the works, and Stan has said that there’s still a lot of shooting to do on ‘The Batman Part II’. This doesn’t mean that Marvel is killing off Bucky, but it’s certainly enough for fans to question.
Obviously, Marvel actors can do more than one thing at a time, so Stan’s DC role shouldn’t just be assumed to be proof of Bucky’s demise. However, if Bucky does fall in ‘Doomsday’, Stan’s move from Marvel to DC would take a major turn. And Bucky Barnes’s exit from the MCU would be one hell of a walkout for Stan.
