An early draft of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ has leaked online ahead of filming, and if the information is true, Marvel could be planning a rather bizarre version of Battleworld.

The reported draft is set years after Doctor Doom has become the ruler of Battleworld. The story is supposed to start in a medieval-like setting where the people have no recollection of their previous lives, before immediately plunging audiences into a traditional superhero war.

That would be a very different ‘Secret Wars‘ than a run-of-the-mill Avengers film. Think of the beloved characters of Marvel in mundane everyday lives, unaware of their past lives. Now picture Doom as the sole one who knows the whole story.

The leaked information claims that Doctor Strange is Doom’s second-in-command, and that Yelena is in another high-ranking position in his regime. Doom also has an army of Thors, powerful witches, and a Hulk variant.

However, the most interesting aspects are the ones that deal with Steve Rogers and Sentry. Sentry is said to be imprisoned without his memories, and Steve is imprisoned with his entire past intact. Doom doesn’t want Steve to forget anything, not because he is afraid of him, but because he wants him to suffer.

Doom doesn’t just want to beat his enemies; he wants them to know he’s better than them. The rumored plot also reportedly features the likes of Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) as prisoners, which would put some of Marvel’s most recognizable legacy heroes in the hands of Doom.

The main cast is reportedly Doctor Doom, Steve Rogers, Wanda Maximoff, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Reed Richards. The list also includes supporting characters like Deadpool, Wolverine, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, and Sentry.

The draft extends beyond that, as Jean Grey, Sinestro, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, and more X-Men characters also make an appearance. Even if some of this stuff does make it into the final film, though, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ might be turning into less of a superhero crossover and more of a complete Marvel fantasy epic.

And come to think of it, it would sound like the sort of madness that ‘Secret Wars’ was looking for: Doom running some forgotten Battleworld while Steve Rogers, Spider-Man and Wolverine are among his captives.
