Bob Reynolds has always been one of Marvel’s strangest and most tragic characters. ‘Thunderbolts’ merely gave audiences a glimpse of just how powerful and unstable he can be.
Now, if the latest rumors surrounding ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ are accurate, Marvel could be preparing to turn Sentry into one of the movie’s biggest spectacles.
Bob Reynolds Could Finally Show Why Sentry Is So Terrifying
Bob’s introduction was never really about showing off his powers. He is a deeply damaged man whose life was shaped by addiction, isolation, and experimentation. Valentina’s experiments transformed him into the Sentry. But becoming one of the most powerful beings in the MCU didn’t magically fix the person underneath.

In fact, his greatest weakness has always been emotional rather than physical. The end of ‘Thunderbolts’ offered Bob something he had spent much of his life desperately missing: genuine human connection. Yelena and the other members of the New Avengers didn’t simply see him as a weapon or an experiment. They saw Bob.
That distinction could become incredibly important in ‘Doomsday’. Rumors surrounding the film claim that Sentry could be pushed into an extraordinary situation involving an Incursion, with him allegedly attempting to prevent two Earths from colliding by physically pulling them apart.
It sounds completely ridiculous, and that’s precisely why it feels like the kind of comic-book spectacle Marvel could turn into an unforgettable cinematic moment. If the scene happens, the visual alone could be enormous: Sentry standing between two collapsing worlds, using sheer strength to hold reality together while everything around him is being destroyed.
The Most Powerful Sentry Scene Could Also Be His Most Human
The most interesting part wouldn’t simply be Bob proving that he’s stronger than everyone else. It would be Bob finally choosing to use his terrifying power for something good. For most of his life, Bob has been treated as something broken. His addiction, trauma, and the Void have made him afraid of what he can become.

In ‘Thunderbolts’, the people around him begin giving him something he desperately needs: a reason to believe he’s more than his worst moments. That makes his arc in ‘Doomsday’ far more meaningful. Sentry doesn’t need to become the strongest Avenger just for the sake of a power showcase.
He needs to become someone who can finally control the power that has haunted him. If Marvel really shows Bob Reynolds holding two Earths apart, it could be spectacular. However, if the scene is built around Bob deciding that others are worth saving, it could become even better.
