Prince Louis is only eight, but he already knows how to steal the show without even trying. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest child has become a fan favorite thanks to his funny reactions and big personality.
Now, royal insiders say his ability to make people smile could actually make him the royal family’s “secret weapon.”
Prince Louis Is Basically Media Material

A source told Rob Shuter, in a Substack post, that Louis is “media gold.” Unlike a carefully planned royal appearance, his reactions often feel completely natural, and that seems to be a big reason people enjoy watching him.

“You can’t manufacture that kind of charisma. He genuinely loves meeting people, lights up in a crowd, and never looks like he’s performing. What you see is exactly who he is,” the insider divulged.
Another source called Louis “the Crown’s secret weapon” and explained how the three Wales children already bring very different vibes to the royal family. Prince George has the serious future-king role, while Princess Charlotte has become known for looking confident and composed in public.
George Has Duty, Charlotte Has Confidence, Louis Has Joy

“George represents duty, Charlotte projects confidence, and Louis brings joy. Within seconds he can make people smile, and that’s an extraordinary gift for a modern royal,” the insider said. Basically, Louis does not need to do much to get a reaction. His personality does the work for him.

Kensington Palace reportedly “believes familiarity builds trust,” as the “public feels they’ve grown up alongside these children, creating a connection that can’t be manufactured.” Royal watchers have seen George, Charlotte and Louis grow up through major family events, so there is already a level of familiarity there.
It sounds like Louis could pop up more often as he gets older too. “The Palace knows exactly what it has in Prince Louis — and you’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the years ahead,” another insider chimed in. Louis recently joined George, Charlotte, William and Kate at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
It was the first time the three siblings had made a public appearance together in Scotland. The outing also marked Louis’ first sporting event with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Of course, Louis gave royal fans plenty to talk about. He flashed a huge smile while wearing a cute bucket hat gifted to him by Team Wales and gave Finnie, the Games’ unicorn mascot, a high-five. He also watched several events, including netball and track cycling.
