Prince William could face a difficult royal dilemma if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to return to the UK.

A royal expert believes Harry’s presence could force William to confront questions about their fractured relationship while also creating fresh tension over King Charles’ approach to his younger son.

Royal commentator Tom Sykes shared that Harry’s possible return could create a series of problems for the Prince of Wales, particularly if King Charles chooses to welcome the Duke of Sussex back into royal life.

It’s going to represent huge challenges for William,” Sykes said. William and Harry reportedly remain out of contact after years of tension between the brothers.

Sykes suggested that William may eventually have to reconsider how long he can continue avoiding Harry, especially if the Duke starts spending more time in Britain. According to the expert, that situation may not be “sustainable” in the long term.

King Charles Could Make the Situation Even More Complicated

Sykes raised several possible scenarios that could place William in an uncomfortable position. One involves King Charles inviting Harry to spend Christmas with the Royal Family, while another could see Harry wanting to attend important national occasions such as Remembrance Day.

What is going to happen if Charles invites Harry to join the royal family for Christmas? What is going to happen if Harry wants to attend the Remembrance Day celebrations?” he asked.

Sykes also questioned what William would do if Charles publicly stood beside Harry and showed his support for his younger son. “What is going to happen if his father endorses Harry by appearing in public shoulder to shoulder with him? It’s a huge succession of challenges for William.”

The royal expert also predicted that Harry could turn to his father for support ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games. Harry founded the international sporting competition to support wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans, and the event remains one of his most important projects.

William, however, reportedly has no plans to rebuild his relationship with his brother even if the Sussexes return. That position could become harder to maintain if Charles welcomes Harry back to family gatherings, royal occasions, or major Invictus Games-related events, leaving William with several difficult decisions about how he handles his brother’s renewed presence in Britain.
