‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Opening Scene Will Be An Action Packed Montage Featuring ‘Low-Level’ Villains

Marvel Studios has never been shy about throwing its heroes right into the fray. Now, the latest rumors around ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ suggest an electrifying opening sequence on the horizon.

According to insider reports from Alex Perez via The Cosmic Circus, fans will be treated to a thrilling montage showcasing the super-family battling an array of lesser-known villains from their classic rogues’ gallery. The goal of the montage is mainly to capture the Fantastic Four’s spirit of adventure.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Montage Will Also Feature Mole Man

For fans familiar with the original comic series, the ‘Fantastic Four’s adventures have always been a mix of cosmic grandeur and relatable, city-level heroics. The opening montage in ‘First Steps’ seems set to honor this tradition. The team will reportedly fight against a lineup of nostalgic and slightly underappreciated villains.

Among these villains, Mole Man will make a brief yet impactful appearance. Moreover, the inclusion of Mole Man suggests that Marvel is dedicated to showing the depth of the Fantastic Four’s world beyond just the big names. Mole Man, who debuted in ‘Fantastic Four #1’ in 1961, was one of the major threats the team frequently faced in their early days.

Franklin Richards Will Be A Toddler In ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’

Beyond the montage, there are also rumors about the Richards family’s young son, Franklin Richards. According to insider Daniel Richtman, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ will introduce Franklin as a toddler aged 3-4. This is done for a significant aging twist planned for future MCU projects.

In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Franklin will reportedly age up to become a central figure and will be in the 10-13 age range. Comic book readers know Franklin Richards as one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. His journey in the comics includes self-accelerated growth into adulthood. This allows him to harness his immense abilities to their fullest.

However, this often comes at a psychological cost. Adding to the intrigue is the post-’Secret Wars’ speculation of a soft MCU reboot. This move could seamlessly blend the Fantastic Four and X-Men into the main continuity. Insiders suggest that some characters, like Doctor Strange and Deadpool, might retain memories of past realities. However, others will navigate a world that feels both familiar and changed.
