The new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings Peter Parker’s new reality to life. But there could be another layer to his upcoming crisis—especially if his next storyline takes inspiration from the concept of ‘Spider-Puberty.‘ After his complete isolation because of a devastating multiversal spell, Peter faces a biological ticking time bomb. It’s an out-of-control mutation.

To save himself from the impending biological disaster, Tom Holland’s character could repeat history. Yep, he could turn to one of the Avengers, given the high stakes. The man in question could be Doctor Bruce Banner. To prevent Peter’s powers from debilitating him, Banner could uncover and retrofit an old device to regulate the effects of “incompatible DNA.” Specifically, Bruce could reprogram the Hulk Inhibitor by shifting its focus from Gamma radiation to Spider DNA. Here’s how it may unfold.

Peter Parker May Be Losing Control Of His Powers

Perhaps one of the most exciting theories about the next chapter of Spider-Man’s story in the MCU has centered on ‘Spider-Puberty.‘ It can lead to Peter undergoing unpredictable evolutionary changes in his body and abilities. His powers could start changing on their own accord because of the presence of spider DNA in his system.

The potential danger? These powers could amplify to the point that Peter won’t be able to control them. While Spider-Man already has some incredible abilities, including super-strength, webslinging, and heightened senses, any further enhancement could render him uncontrollable. Not only would that leave the character vulnerable, but it could also lead to collateral damage.

He could even severely injure innocent bystanders. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has always had his powers come with risks, and Peter has had to face some pretty dangerous situations because of them. If he starts experiencing evolutionary mutations, he’ll face a much bigger challenge.

But most importantly, Peter’s evolution could make him turn to science. He can use his scientific skills to understand and even harness the changes to his body and powers before it’s too late.

No Avenger Understands Mutations Better Than Banner

If Peter’s powers are becoming unstable, there may be no better person in the MCU to help him than Bruce Banner. Long before Peter transformed into a superhero, Banner spent years struggling with a body altered by forces beyond his control. Mutation, transformation, and the constant fear of hurting others defined his journey as the Hulk.

This experience gives Banner a perspective that few heroes can match. Tony Stark may specialize in engineering and advanced technology. But Banner’s expertise has always involved biology, genetics, and radiation-induced changes. He understands what it feels like when your body refuses to behave normally.

And that’s why many fans believe Banner could play a key role in Peter’s next chapter. If Spider-Man is dealing with rapidly changing DNA, Banner’s research would likely offer valuable insight. Over the years, he almost certainly explored ways to monitor or suppress the effects of gamma radiation on his body. For Peter, that knowledge could be invaluable.

Although he is an exceptional scientist, he has never faced a crisis involving his own biology on this scale. Instead of developing a solution entirely on his own, he could build upon Banner’s work. Their shared experiences with uncontrollable transformations would create a natural connection while giving Peter access to technology specifically designed to address dangerous mutations.

Why Peter May Need Banner’s Old Inhibitor

The most intriguing part of the theory is the possibility that Banner once created a biological inhibitor device to manage his own transformations. While such technology has never been explored in depth on-screen, it would fit naturally within Banner’s history of attempting to control the Hulk.

It is also worth noting that an inhibitor doesn’t necessarily mean the removal of someone’s superpowers. It serves to stabilize their biological changes and keep them from getting out of hand. Therefore, the device may have been used to regulate Banner’s gamma-related instability. It may work similarly for Peter in response to changes caused by spider DNA.

As you can see, the whole idea becomes much more significant since if the latter experiences an unpredictable evolution of powers, Peter would need a way to regulate and monitor them before it is too late. So, an inhibitor is just what he needs.

Peter Might Rebuild Hulk’s Tech For Spider DNA

Even if Banner provided the original technology, Peter would still face a major challenge. Any inhibitor device created by Banner would have been designed specifically for gamma radiation and the biological effects associated with the Hulk. Spider-Man’s powers, however, come from altered spider genetics rather than gamma exposure.

That difference could explain why Peter might appear to be modifying or repairing the device himself. Rather than using it as originally intended, he may need to redesign key components so that the technology can recognize and regulate spider-related mutations. In effect, Peter would transform a gamma-based stabilizer into a tool tailored to his own condition.

The idea fits perfectly with Spider-Man’s character. Peter has always been defined by his scientific creativity and ability to solve hard problems. Reworking Banner’s technology would allow him to use those skills while highlighting the seriousness of his situation. It would also provide a grounded scientific angle for the story.

Instead of relying on magic or multiverse solutions, Peter would be forced to confront the problem through research, experimentation, and ingenuity. Every adjustment would carry risks, making the process as important as the outcome itself. If the ‘Spider-Puberty’ theory proves true, this modified Hulk device could become one of the most important tools in Peter’s life.

It won’t remain a forgotten piece of MCU history. In fact, it may be the key to stopping his powers from evolving into something dangerous and uncontrollable. Ultimately, the theory ties together Spider-Man’s scientific brilliance and Bruce Banner’s experience with unstable transformations. If Marvel takes this route, the forgotten Hulk technology could become the unlikely lifeline that helps Peter survive the most dangerous evolution of his powers yet.
