Thor is one of the most powerful and iconic characters in the Marvel comics. The popularity has skyrocketed in recent years thanks to the solo Thor films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Hercules, on the other hand, is another Marvel character that is deemed powerful enough. The character, based on Heracles of Greek mythology, is the most powerful Olympian god. But we wonder which one of them is more powerful. Let’s try to find out.
Thor vs Hercules: Who Would Win?
Talking about the origin of Hercules, he is the son of the Greek god Zeus, who is the king of Olympians. He is a permanent member of the superhero team the Avengers. Hercules has all the powers of an Olympian god including superhuman strength, high speed, strong reflexes, durability, stamina, and endurance. He is considered to be the strongest among the Olympians and is capable of lifting and hurling giant trees, smashing rocks to powder, sealing a cliff around an opponent with his bare hands as well as knocking out a yellow-crested Titan.
The “Prince of Power” is one of the few who can take blows from Thor and has complete resistance to bullets. His strong legs allow him to run at a speed of over 100 mph and make over a hundred feet of jumps in the air. Apart from these abilities, Hercules is also a master in archery, boxing, and Greco-Roman wrestling.
Thor, on the other hand, is an Asgardian and is the strongest of them all. He possesses incredible strength and has lifted earth-size Midgard-Serpent and has overpowered infinite gravity. The “God of Thunder” is also immune to physical harm, travels faster than light, and has strong senses.
Thor and Hercules have had a long rivalry and have even got into fights several times. On two occasions, Zeus had to intervene and dissolve the issue. The next time when the two clashed was when the Thunder God returned to Earth from Asgard and found that Hercules had started making advances on Jane Foster. Thor lost the fight, as Odin had taken away half his strength as punishment for falling in love with a human.
So, it can be concluded that both of them are equally strong but we never got to see a fair fight between the two. With the strengths the two possess, we would see the total destruction of their surroundings if they get into a fight.
Hercules Will Soon Appear In The MCU
In the post-credit scene of ‘Thor: Love And Thunder,’ Zeus expresses his disappointment that no person fears the current gods. He asks his son Hercules to kill Thor so people are once again scared of them.
According to reports, actor Brett Goldstein will appear as the greek god in the fourth installment of Thor.
