After Marvel announced that Hercules will appear in the latest Thor film, fans were curious about who will play the part. Recently, a source revealed that ‘Ted Lasso‘ actor and writer, Brett Goldstein has been cast as Hercules, son of Zeus in the MCU. Brett Goldstein has been a favorite fan-casting for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on Hercules for quite a long time.

It’s been a while since Taika Waititi directed masterpiece ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ confirmed the casting of Russell Crowe as Zeus. Since the father is there, how can the son not be in it? Although, it’s still not clear if Brett Goldstein’s Hercules will show up in the upcoming ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ or not. But there is no doubt that the ground plot for him to appear in the upcoming projects will be there.

The plot for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ focuses on the scariest Marvel villain Gorr the God Butcher. As Gorr has only one motive, to kill all the gods, things might not turn out really well for Hercules. But on the other hand, if Gorr does attack Olympus and do some destruction, that could be a compelling built-in narrative arc for the character to start his MCU journey. Let’s see how the story unfolds.

Hercules has been part of Marvel Comics for decades. His first introduction was in 1964 as a servant of Immortus (a future version of Kang the Conquerer, set to be played by Jonathan Majors in the MCU). Most of his appearances feature him as a rival of both Thor and the Hulk, being comparable to the two in strength and endurance.

He has a parallel place with Thor as a similarly powerful god figure with similar issues of arrogance and has an attention-seeker and celebrity-obsessed attitude.

Brett Goldstein’s Hercules is no doubt gonna be an absolute treat to watch. Fans are just excited to see how Marvel will manage to keep Brett Goldstein from cursing on screen for an entire film.
