Marvel may have quietly set up a connection between Vision and Bruce Banner that could become important in ‘VisionQuest’. The new episodes seem to be about Vision’s struggle to rebuild his life and come to terms with the fallout from his return. However, a few things about Banner suggest that there may be a much bigger story in the MCU.
Could Bruce Banner Be Sending Vision Regular Updates?

Tommy Maximoff asks Vision who could fix him in ‘VisionQuest’. Vision sees two individuals who have the skills needed: one who sacrificed himself to save the universe, and the other, Dr. Bruce Banner. But Vision has a problem: Banner is not available.

That raises an interesting question. How does Vision know that Banner can’t help him, particularly when they haven’t been in contact for so long? The reason may be the post-credit sequence of ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’. The footage depicted Banner alone in an underground lab, making video logs for an unknown recipient.
While Marvel hasn’t explicitly stated who these recordings are for, there is an interesting possibility here: Banner might be sending a message to Vision. Even after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Banner has a lot of scientific problems to solve.
He has been experimenting with gamma radiation and his transformation into Smart Hulk, and his ongoing research may be the reason he has withdrawn from the outside world. If Banner has been communicating with Vision about his research, the recordings could be used as regular progress reports. Vision could know exactly what Banner is working on without being able to contact him directly or receive assistance.
Vision’s MCU Return Could Connect Two Unfinished Stories

The theory has another thematic reason. Vision and Banner share a history through the Avengers, particularly their involvement in creating the original Vision in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. Banner knows the science behind the creation of Vision, and he is a natural choice to help repair the synthezoid.

But ‘VisionQuest’s Vision is not the same Vision that people remember. Following the events of ‘WandaVision’, White Vision has the original Vision’s memories, but he must discover what they mean for him. Banner’s research might offer more than a physical answer. His work may also overlap with Vision’s quest to understand.
Until Marvel says otherwise, the link is a strong possibility, but not a certainty. If the two storylines do eventually meet up, a seemingly inconsequential post-credit sequence could be a key part of the MCU’s bigger picture.
