Bisha K. Ali is the writer of the brand new MCU series ‘Ms. Marvel‘. In an interview, Ali gave some insight on the fact that Kevin Feige immediately shot her idea of tying ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to the series. According to her testimony, it didn’t even take a minute for Feige to shoot her idea down and label it as ridiculous, even if she thought it was perfect. Filmmakers love working for Marvel Studios as they are given complete liberty to tell the story in their own voice.
Kevin Feige is the president and creative head of Marvel Studios. Despite the freedom studio provides to its filmmakers, Feige is the one to ultimately decide what will make it to the final cut. Sometimes the directors and writers are themselves fans of Marvel and they want something entirely different than what is present in the comics. Looks like Ali also presented one such idea to the Marvel Boss and he didn’t like it. So, what was this ridiculous idea?
‘Ms. Marvel’ Writer’s Idea To Interconnect ‘Endgame’ With Series Was Not Approved
In a recent interview, Bisha K. Ali explained how Kevin Feige said no to her idea of tying ‘Avengers: Endgame’ into the series. “At one point, like early days before we kind of expanded the creative team out, I was like, ‘Kevin, what if there was like, drones and a live stream of the battle of ‘Endgame?” And he like, ‘Bisha, no,’” the writer said in a recent interview with TheWrap.
Ali continued, “I’m like, there wasn’t one Twitch streamer around for the final battle of ‘Endgame’? Are we kidding? I think I lost my mind at that point, try to solve this riddle. So it was really a big iterative journey. And it was something that kind of changed and moved all the way through. And I think it must have been a Sana [Amanat] pitch by the end. Or it might even — I actually have no idea where that idea came from. But when we kind of integrated into the script, I think it was perfect. It was characterful.”
In the series, it is shown that the MCU people get to know about Endgame events through Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) podcast. Ali expressed how she would like to include the podcast in MCU.
“I’m desperate to listen to this podcast and desperate to make it,” she added. “Like, also, why shouldn’t the MCU expand into podcasting? Like fiction podcast? I mean, Paul Rudd, what’s up? Let’s do it. I’ll write it, you just sit in a booth. It’ll be a good time. I would love to hear it. And also because — I don’t know, it can’t be for everyone, but for me, podcasts are my relaxed space. Like I’m obsessed with podcasts. So yeah, I can see Kamala just sitting around listening to it all the time. I’d love to make it.”
Fans React To Ali’s Suggestion On Endgame Battle Scene
Fans have tweeted their opinion regarding Bisha’s idea. While some fans reacted positively to her idea, some were very negative about it. One tweeted “Well, this was a stupid idea 😂.” Another fan tweeted “They actually want to push for characters in the Ms. Marvel series to know all the shit that happened in the MCU for Kamala to know all that showing her side on being a superhero fan.”
