However, if Tony somehow saw a future in which the Multiverse was falling apart, maybe he could have realized that defeating Thanos was not the solution.

Tony had been living in fear for years that he wouldn’t be ready for the next attack. In his death, his most powerful instinct was to safeguard the future. Whether the theory ever becomes canon or not, it makes Tony’s final Snap feel even more mysterious, and honestly, that is exactly the kind of Marvel rabbit hole worth exploring.
