Marvel’s phase five has interesting, tech-infused films and series lined up. ‘Secret Invasion‘ will be the first series set to be released in the phase of the Multiverse saga on June 21, 2023, for Disney+. Although ‘Secret Invasion’ will not be dealing with the Multiverse saga, it will instead bridge ‘Captain Marvel‘ and its sequel, ‘The Marvels‘ which is also set to release this year.
Marvel’s favorite agent – Nick Fury is back on Earth to investigate a rogue group of Skrulls – the alien shapeshifters who have infiltered all the high-ranking positions on the globe. Consisting of six episodes, ‘Secret Invasion’ will act as a loose adaption of the 2008 comic version of ‘Secret Invasion’. Here’s the list of the main characters from the upcoming Marvel series.

Nick Fury
Nick Fury is back to lead the team in ‘Secret Invasion‘ after a long time-out from beating up the bad guys. Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising the role of Nick Fury alongside his Captain Marvel co-star Ben Mendelsohn. Ever since his cameo role in the post-credit scene in Iron Man, Jackson has cemented himself in the role of Nick Fury, initially as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and then the advisor for the Avengers. Now with his comeback to Earth in the ‘Secret Invasion‘, he will surely be heading the team against the alien shapeshifters. Jackson will appear for the third time in a Marvel TV series after a guest role in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’ and ‘What If?’
Talos
Talos played by Ben Mendelsohn was introduced in Marvel the 2019 film ‘Captain Marvel’ and made his way to ‘Spiderman: Far from Home’. Mendelsohn’s Talos was responsible for introducing the Skrulls into the MCU. It will be exciting to see Nick Fury and Talos team up together against the Skrulls and deliver memorable moments in ‘Secret Invasion‘. Talos was initially believed to be a wicked general plotting to infiltrate and vanquish Earth, but later it was revealed that he was just a survivor trying to protect his people from the Supreme Intelligence who had deceived Captain Marvel into wrongfully hunting the Skrull refugees.
Maria Hill
Previously known for her role as Robin in ‘How I Met Your Mother‘, Cobie Smulders has been a part of the MCU since her debut in 2012’s ‘The Avengers‘ as Nick Fury’s confidant. Maria has also appeared in Marvel’s TV series including ‘What if?‘ and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.S‘ along with Nick Fury. According to the timeline of ‘Secret Invasion’, Maria Hill left Earth without Fury for many years, cleaning up the mess all by herself. But the events of the ‘Secret Invasion‘ will bring back the iconic duo of Nick Fury and Maria Hill and it also devises depth in Smulders’ character.

Rhodey AKA War Machine
‘Secret Invasion‘ is all set to explore and develop Don Cheadle’s character. The US Air Force officer and Avenger was introduced in MCU during the 2010’s ‘Iron Man 2’, but ‘Secret Invasion’ will portray Rhodey in a new perspective – a more political role as the current MCU president’s right-hand man. This newly assigned role will put Rhodey in a crossroads situation in ‘Secret Invasion’. Marvel is also planning a project solely for the War Machine in ‘Armor Wars’.
G’iah
After playing the Mad Queen in the ‘Games of Thrones’, Emilia Clarke is all set to make her Marvel debut in ‘Secret Wars‘ as G’iah, the daughter of Talos and a member of the Skrull resistance. Although glimpses of G’iah can be seen in 2019’s ‘Captain Marvel‘, Clarke will play the grown-up version. Her relationship with her father, Talos will be pivotal to the events of the film as both are on the opposing side of Skrull’s history.
Sonya Falsworth
Played by the Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman, Sonya Falsworth is revealed to have a relation to James Montgomery Falsworth, a member of Steve Rogers’ Howling Commandos from ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’. Sonya Falsworth is an MI6 agent whose primary mission is to protect England’s interests and security during the Skrull crisis. She is also known to have a prior relationship with Nick Fury.
Gravik
Kingsley Ben-Adir is joining the team of ‘Secret Invasion‘ as the antagonist – a Skrull resistance General named Gravik. It is not only Ben-Adir who is debuting in Marvel but also his character is newly introduced in phase five. From the trailer, it’s clear that Gravik is the primary villain of ‘Secret Invasion’. And since the character is not from Marvel Comics, MCU will surprise the fans with the character’s backstory and development. The second trailer of ‘Secret Invasion’ hinted that Gravik might be the MCU’S Super Skrull.
