Real name Hobart Brown, Spider-Punk is one of the most recent superheroes from Marvel comics. He is an alternate version of Brown and Spider-Man who opposes President Norman Osborn, V.E.N.O.M., and the Inheritors.

The character first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #10 on January 2015. It was created by writer Dan Slott and french comic book artist Olivier Coipel.

According to the creators, their initial idea was to present a British alternative to the web-slinger, Spider-UK. Slott disapproved of the idea but liked the design and helped utilize the character for Coipel.

In the ‘Spider-Verse‘ storyline, Hobart is a homeless teenager who is transformed into Spider-Punk by a spider that was irradiated as part of President Norman Osborn’s toxic waste dumping.
