It has been a while since Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s (MCU) ‘Thor: Love And Thunder‘ hit the theatres. The film met with mostly mixed reviews, but the villain, Gorr the God Butcher was well received.
The character, played by Christain Bale, intrigued the audiences with its look and menacing actions. Now, online concept art has irked some fans after it revealed a better-looking Gorr.
A Concept Art Reveals A Scarier Looking Gorr
Gorr The God Butcher is easily one of the most terrifying villains in the MCU. The character, wonderfully played by Bale, had a scary look. But he could have been scarier. The makers were clear that the appearance will deviate from the comics. One of them was the lack of alien tendrils on the villain’s head.
According to The Direct, character designer Ken Barthelmey recently shared new pieces of concept art on his social media depicting Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. These looks are pretty scary than the film version.

The character has a much more alien feel, with fish-like nostrils and wrinkles on his face that almost look like gills. There are also several protrusions coming out of the back of his skull to give him a look that was much scarier than how he appeared in the final cut.
It’s sad for the fans to think how the new villain could have looked if they had used this look and tried more special effects and prosthetics.
The pictures enraged fans on the internet.
ohhh??? what could have been 😩

Taika Waititi Explains Why “Gorr The God Butcher” Looks Different In Film
Taika Waititi, the director of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘, talked about why the look of the antagonist is different in film from the comics.
He said that they wanted to avoid resemblance with Voldemort from the ‘Harry Potter‘ series. “His face in the comics, unfortunately, does sort of resemble Voldemort, so I was like ‘people are just automatically going to make that connection.”
The director added, “So we decided to depart from that design and sort of keep elements of the tone and the fact that he had the sword. It was really his story that was the most important for us.”
‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is currently playing in theatres.
