In 2008, Marvel Cinematic Universe brought Hulk to the big screens portrayed by Edward Norton. In the later projects, Norton was replaced by Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. Appearing in almost all the films, Hulk never had a second solo film, leaving him the only Avengers without another solo project.
In a recent interview, Ruffalo nodded for being a part of ‘Captain America 4’, however later revealed that the actor misspoke about being a part of the film. However, a small nod skyrocketed fans’ excitement in believing that Hulk will be seen in future Marvel projects.

Kevin Feige Confirmed That Hulk Will Never Get A Standalone Film
Unlike the other characters, Hulk has a complicated character rights fiasco as The Incredible Hulk was released before Disney acquired Marvel. As the film was distributed by Universal Pictures, the character rights remained with the production company. While Marvel still had rights over the character, as it was allowed to make a Hulk solo film, Universal would get a part of the box office profits.
During a recent interview at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival panel, Mark Ruffalo revealed that the MCU boss confirmed that Hulk will never get another solo project. The actor shared a part of the conversation he had with Kevin Feige which indicated that Feige has given up on a standalone Hulk project.
Mark Ruffalo said, “Yeah. Kevin [Feige] was like, What would you like to do? And he said, What would you do if you had a standalone Hulk movie? I said, Well, I’d like to take him from this raging maniac to kind of this integrated character. And he’s like, Okay. We’ll do that over the course of four movies. We’ll never give you a standalone Hulk…I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but that’s just not going to [happen]. So, we’ll do it over four movies, how does that sound?”

Hulk Is Too Late For A Standalone Project As MCU Has Moved Forward
Over time, Mark Ruffalo has perfectly embodied the role of Bruce Banner, radiating his charisma every time Ruffola makes an appearance on the screen, even if it’s a cameo. Fans have celebrated his appearance in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and ‘She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’ even in a supporting role.
Also, Bruce’s character is always highlighted in the presence of another protagonist character. As Hulk does not acquire a standalone project it can effectively grow while being just a supporting character. Also, Marvel has moved on with the next phase, introducing Multiverse. As the fans are getting all jolted up for it, dragging them down in a Hulk standalone film will only feel disconnected from the current trend.
