Blue Ivy, the 11-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and JAY-Z, is no exception to social media negativity. In her latest concert film, Beyoncé has spoken about Blue Ivy’s growth and negative exposure to social media she had to face as a young performer.
The film, which gives the viewers a sneak-peak into her Renaissance World Tour, sheds light on how Blue Ivy’s appearances alongside her mother during the tour have affected the duo. Beyoncé also states that the idea of Blue Ivy joining her onstage did not receive the best response initially.

Beyoncé Says Her Daughter Channeled Negativity To Improve Herself
In the film, Beyoncé opens up about how Blue Ivy was heavily critiqued for her dancing. The singer tells in the film how her daughter, a rather young performer, took notice of negative comments after her first surprise appearance at her mother’s Paris performance.
However, she also lauds how her resilient child decided to turn the negative criticism into motivation. Beyoncé says the 11-year-old started working on polishing her dancing skills after the negative social media comments.
Beyoncé reveals that the original plan was to get her daughter on stage just for one performance. As a mother, she says she was skeptical that her teenager performing in front of thousands of people would not exactly be a suitable environment for her.
Recalling their early conversations, Beyoncé says in the film, “She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no.” Blue Ivy’s determination and her eventual progress during the tour made Beyoncé change her mind, she added.

Blue Ivy’s Family Is Proud Of Her Progress
Even the singer’s fans seem to have noticed a commendable improvement in her confidence. Many noted that her performance in Houston was much better as compared to the first one in Paris.
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, also admitted that she is extremely proud of her granddaughter. “She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she’s just getting better and better,” Knowles-Lawson said.
“This is a heels family. You’re trained early to walk in heels,” she further remarked.
Blue Ivy’s father Jay-Z, also echoed his mother-in-law’s sentiment. During an interview on CBS Mornings, he asserted that he believes his daughter has the ability to reclaim her power on stage.
