Emma Stone is setting a wonderful example on how to treat your best friends’ exes, and we’re absolutely loving it. The actress, who has been best friends with Taylor Swift since over a decade has worked in two films with the singer’s ex, Joe Alwyn.
For those assuming there’s any kind of bad blood between both the actors, Stone has cleared the air by gushing about Alwyn and his work, calling him “one of the sweetest people” she has ever met. Here’s the full story.
Emma Stone Talks About Joe Alwyn
The ‘Poor Things’ actress has nothing but love for BFF Taylor Swift’s ex Joe Alwyn. They have previously worked together in another film called ‘The Favourite‘ and now are working together with the same filmmaker on ‘Kinds Of Kindness’, marking their second collaboration together.
Having already collaborated with Alwyn on the 2018 Lanthimos film, Stone praised Alwyn in a press statement regarding the new film and shared her gratitude for the opportunity to work with him despite ‘Kinds of Kindness‘ difficult premise.
“I love Joe” she said, “We had to do some pretty dark stuff on this one, so it was extremely comforting to be with him because he’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.”
Her statement came across as healthy and professional as she separated Alwyn’s private life from his personal life. Their film will come out on 21st June this year, but will premiere at 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

What Is ‘Kinds Of Kindness’ About?
The film’s official sypnosis reads, “Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing at sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.”
Speaking about the plot in 2023, director Yorgos Lanthimos said, “It’s three different stories and there’s a core of seven actors, including Emma of course, who play one character in each story, so they all play three different characters.”
Coming from the same director who made ‘The Favourite‘, and Emma’s most recent Oscar-winning film, ‘Poor Things‘, ‘Kinds of Kindness‘ promises to be a thrilling watch. Though its trailer doesn’t give much away, Yorgos Lanthimos’ direction already is an assurance of the film being a pretty good watch.
Hunter Schafer, Margaret Qualley, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, and Mamoudou Athie are just a few of the stellar cast of ‘Kinds of Kindness’.
