Glass Onion: A Knives out Mystery‘ is the sequel to the 2019 ‘Knives Out‘ directed and written by Rian Johnson. On 10 September 2022, the sequel dropped after the success of the first movie. It is an ambitious attempt to style it according to an Agatha Christie novel.

Daniel Craig reprises his role as Benoit Blanc, the detective, nothing that compared to Hercule Poirot. ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out MysteryPlot

In ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery‘, Tech billionaire Miles Brown sends out a mysterious escape room-style cryptic invitation to his friends for a gateway on his private island in Greece to solve a murder mystery. The twist is he claims it’d be his own murder. Everything goes south when the reel becomes real, and an actual dead body is found.

The group is shocked to see Andi as Miles, who had betrayed her out of Miles’ tech company. Blanc confesses to Miles he ruined the game on purpose, as he believed his life might be in danger. Unfortunately, Blanc is proved wrong when Duke after taking a sip from Miles’ glass, dies. Meanwhile, Andi is caught off-guard by Whiskey blaming her for Duke’s death. Things get chaotic hereafter.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ Ending Explained

Rian Johnson is known for his unexpected plot twists. Like the prequel, ‘Glass Onion‘ ends with an unanticipated ending, shocking the audience with the identity of the real killer. Miles actually murders both Andi and Duke. The latter was because he learned about Andi’s death and wanted to confront Miles and negotiate with him. He killed Andi by roofing her drink because he did not want his credibility and image to be tainted.

Miles Bron is not the smartest person, and that is made obvious when he haphazardly plans to kill Duke and hide Andi’s napkin rather than destroy it. Carrying on with terrible ideas, Miles’ plan was to sell his hydrogen fuel cell to various companies and countries. His home, the Glass Onion on the Greek island proved that this new energy source could power an entire place without creating any pollution. This was a way for him to make a ton of money and be remembered in the “same breath as the Mona Lisa.” While the hydrogen fuel plan was sound on paper, it was highly unstable and, as ‘Glass Onion’ ending explained, could bring forth massive destruction.
