Sony is planning a film based on ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ which is currently in the works. There is a rumor that Hiroyuki Sanada may play a central character in the movie.
Not much has been released yet. Hiroyuki Sanada has come to the spotlight after his stunning performance in ‘Shogun’. The Japanese actor, producer, singer and martial artist recently starred in the historical drama series ‘Shōgun’ as Yoshii Toranaga. His character is a fictionalized version of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Given the fact that Hiroyuki Sanada has already been part of another movie adaptation based on a video game, he will likely be the appropriate choice. He has already starred as Scorpion in ‘Mortal Kombat’. And given his role in ‘Shogun’, it is not surprising that Sony would approach him for a role in ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’.
Although there has been no other news about his role or any further details, fans have already theorized which role would suit him best. Hiroyuki Sanada is a stellar choice for the complex role of Lord Shimura. Lord Shimura is the uncle, samurai mentor and liege-lord to the protagonist Jin Sakai. Although it must be kept in mind that the rumor has not been confirmed by Sony yet.

What Is ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ About?
One of the globally super hit games of PlayStation 4, ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ has been nominated for several awards as well. In the game, players play as Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Jin has to navigate the different levels by choosing between fighting following the warrior code or using practical but dishonorable methods of repelling.
His one and only mission is to repel the Mongols out of Tsushima Island with minimal casualties. Jin travels through the game world either on horseback or on foot. While facing enemies, players can engage in direct confrontation using Jin’s katana. They can also opt to become a legendary warrior known as “the Ghost” by using stealth tactics to assassinate opponents.
