Recently, Jon Hamm voiced his desire to make a romantic comedy along with ‘The Morning Show’s co-star, Jennifer Aniston. Hamm starred as the tech billionaire, Paul Marks and Aniston character’s love interest in the show. Jennifer has established a good portfolio of rom-coms in her career. ‘Just Go With It’ and ‘The Break-Up’ for instance. Hamm credits Sidney Sweeney and Glen Powell with reviving the genre with their 2023 release, ‘Anyone But You’.
Hamm was impressed with Jennifer’s role in ‘The Murder Mystery’ movies with Adam Sandler. He believes that he and Aniston can pull off a similar dynamic. Although Paul Marks exited ‘The Morning Show’ at the end of season 3, Hamm is rumored to reprise his role in the future. Hamm has been nominated twice for the 2024 Emmys for ‘The Morning Show’ and ‘Fargo’.
Jon Hamm Wants A Charming And Funny Rom-Com With Jennifer Aniston
While Jon wants to lead a romantic comedy with Aniston, the actor currently rough idea for the film. The ‘Mad Men’ actor said, “I have no idea what it would look like.” He added, “I think it would just have to be funny and fun and it would let us do what we both do very well, which is be charming and funny and compelling. I certainly wouldn’t say no to that.” Powell was impressed by ‘The Murder Mystery’ movies of Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
“She’s kind of established the Adam Sandler films that she’s done, which I think have been great — those murder mysteries, those are always really fun,” Hamm related. Initially, Aniston suggested to The Hollywood Reporter the idea of making a film with the ‘Fargo’ actor. Hamm has worked in romantic comedies before but never played the lead.

Hamm is excited to work on a romantic comedy with Aniston. Meanwhile, he also feels grateful to Glen Powell and Sidney Sweeney, for reviving the genre. Powell and Sweeney appeared in 2023’s ‘Anyone But You’. The romantic comedy received a great reception that assured Hamm of the genre’s return to the industry.
“I mean, God bless Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney for proving that it can work again,” Hamm stated. “I’m glad to see that some of the [studios], streamers, and alternate folks are taking swings at the romantic comedy genre again because I feel like it is something that was overlooked for some time,” he added.
