Playing the same character for over a decade can get exhausting. John Wick has become a fan-fiction favorite with his violent action sequences and there is no end to it. During the promotion of the ‘Continental‘, a spin-off series, Basil Iwanyk revealed the end of ‘John Wick 4’ and the possibility of new chapters.
‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ directed by Chad Stahelski almost marked the end of the long-running franchise. The end of the film saw the titular character getting shot in the film’s showdown. John Wick seemingly died on the steps of the Basilica of Sacré Coeur while envisioning his late wife, Helen. However, Keanu Reeves hoped for John Wick to stay on the ground only.

Keanu Reeves Is Tired Of Being A Part Of A Never-Ending Franchise
John Wick seems to be a never-ending franchise. Keanu Reeves practically had to beg the directors to kill the character towards the end of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. In a recent interview with Collider, Basil Iwanyk revealed that Reeves begged the team to kill the protagonist at the end of the fourth installment.
Basil Iwanyk, the franchise producer shared how the installment drained Keanu physically and mentally. Iwanyk said, “After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movies, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally. By the end, he’s always like, I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him. The guy is just a shell of himself because he just goes off and goes for it. He was like, I wanna be definitively killed at the end of this movie. We were like, You know, we’ll leave a 10% little opening.” Yet with the fatigue, the franchise might be expanding with a story under construction.

Will Keanu Reeves’ John Wick Still Have Bones To Pick?
It is no secret that the fans love watching John Wick killing people. But with Keanu Reeves’ franchise fatigue and considering his emotional and mental health, will there be a ‘John Wich 5’? Chad Stahelski, the man behind the franchise’s engaging and intriguing stories said that he would really like to make a fifth film. Further, he added, that he would only do it because of his love for Keanu Reeves and the genre.
‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ received a worldwide appreciation the highest-grossing film in the franchise and the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2023. It would be extremely exciting to watch Keanu Reeves back in the shoes of John Wick.
