Millie Bobby Brown found herself defending one unexpected answer during a recent lie detector interview with ‘Enola Holmes‘ co-star Louis Partridge.
A playful question about whether she’d ever replace him with Timothée Chalamet in the franchise quickly turned into the biggest talking point after the polygraph accused Brown of not telling the truth, leaving both actors in stitches.
Millie Bobby Brown Tried To Convince Louis Partridge After The Polygraph Disagreed
Brown didn’t waste any time defending herself after the lie detector challenged one of her biggest claims. Laughing at the unexpected verdict, she turned to Louis Partridge and said, “Okay. Okay. I love you, Louis. No one else can play Tewkesbury.“
The funny conversation came in the Vanity Fair interview, after Louis reminded Brown about an old joke from the Enola Holmes set. “You once threatened to replace me with Timothée Chalamet on set. Don’t remember that? But would you swap me out for Timothée Chalamet in Enola Holmes 4? If he did something wrong?” he asked. He then added, “If he says, ‘Louis, I love the franchise. I would really like to play this character.’ What do you say?“
Brown firmly replied, “No.” Herman, the polygraph examiner, immediately responded, “Deception.” The verdict made everyone laugh, while Louis jokingly admitted he didn’t agree with the machine. Brown continued to stand by her answer and insisted nobody else could play Tewkesbury, and that made it one of the interview’s funniest moments.
The Lie Detector Had Plenty More To Say About Millie’s Answers
Things became more interesting once the questions turned personal. Brown confidently claimed Enola Holmes 3 is the best film in the franchise, but Herman immediately replied, “Showing signs of deception.” Louis burst into laughter and joked, “The best question to ask in first.”
Louis also revisited Brown’s famous list of “icks.” She stuck by her opinion that men carrying umbrellas aren’t attractive and even said arriving completely soaked was “much hotter.” Herman ruled that truthful. Brown also admitted her husband, Jake Bongiovi, once gave her “the ick” after getting a nosebleed.

When Louis asked if he had ever done anything to make her cringe, Brown mentioned watching him slowly walk into the sea in Malta. Herman flagged her answer as deceptive, prompting Brown to laugh and admit, “I loved every second of it.” The machine also challenged Brown over the gel nails fans spotted on the ‘Enola Holmes 3‘ poster.
She first admitted they looked cute and joked, “And it’s my film.” When asked whether gel nails were historically accurate for the period, Brown admitted she didn’t know. Herman called her answer deceptive before declaring “Extreme deception” after she insisted they were contemporary. Brown shrugged it off and joked, “Do you give a f***? No.“
‘Stranger Things’ Rounded Out The Conversation
The interview wasn’t all about Enola Holmes. Brown also spoke about life on her farm, where she looks after around 60 animals. She admitted she has favorites and revealed she eats chicken even though she raises chickens herself. However, she said she would never eat animals like sheep, horses or ponies. Herman confirmed she was telling the truth. Brown also laughed when Louis asked if he could survive life as a farmer, quickly answering, “Absolutely not.“
Louis later turned the conversation to Brown’s personal life. Asked if she could still relate to Taylor Swift’s song 22 after becoming “a mother, wife, and entrepreneur before the age of 22,” Brown said yes. However, when Louis quoted the lyric asking if she felt “happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time,” Brown answered, “No.”
Herman once again detected deception, leaving Brown laughing as she admitted, “I get that.” Brown also said she’d recommend getting married young “if they’re in love and they’ve found their person” before confirming, “Yes, I am extremely happy in my marriage.”
Brown also revealed she sometimes leaves online reviews under a fake name when store employees are rude to her and admitted she names them in those reviews. Looking back at ‘Stranger Things‘, she said she was happy with Eleven’s ending and joked that Hopper would have been her choice to die instead because “David’s gonna take it on the chin.”
Louis finished by asking for Brown’s opinion on his Met Gala outfit. And she didn’t sugarcoat her response, saying, “I hate it,” before adding she’d get rid of “the hat and the weird kind of scarf you’re wearing underneath.” Herman’s final verdict perfectly summed up the interview: “No deception.”
