“I Learned The Hard Way”: ‘This Is Me…Now’ Trailer Suggests Jennifer Lopez Was A Sex Addict In The Past

Jennifer Lopez has been experiencing the best of both worlds including the realms of music and acting. The songstress is set to see another couple of significant releases shortly. Lopez is taking the lead role in ‘This Is Me…Now‘, a narrative film that offers a meta-reimagining of her own life, especially her love life.

The film is set to debut the same day as Lopez’s first studio album in a decade, also titled ‘This Is Me…Now’. Ahead of the release that her fans are highly anticipating, the singer-actress has just dropped the trailer of the film. As Jennifer Lopez is set to feature as the lead in the upcoming movie ‘This Is Me…Now’, Amazon Original dropped the full-length trailer on Wednesday. Co-written by Lopez and Matt Walton, the trailer provides a glimpse into the film’s intriguing storyline.

The trailer revolves around Lopez’s character — seemingly a version of herself — navigating through romance, loss, and sex addiction therapy. When friends confront her about the possibility of being a sex addict, she initially rejects the notion as absurd.

However, the trailer later shows her in a group therapy meeting resembling a Sex Addicts Anonymous session. “I learned the hard way — not all love stories have a happy ending,” Lopez says.

Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, the answer was always in love,” she says. The quote accurately describes her string of four marriages on the show, along with her other relationships.

Amazon Prime describes the movie as “a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing. This genre-bending Amazon original showcases her journey to love through her own eyes. With fantastical costumes, breathtaking choreography, and star-studded cameos, this panorama is an introspective retrospective of Jennifer’s resilient heart.”

The trailer further suggests that the movie is Lopez’s story in her own words. “This is her own story in her own words,” the trailer declares. ‘This Is Me…Now‘ is set to debut on Prime Video on February 16, while Lopez’s first studio album in a decade with the film’s title will also be released on the same day.

Other than Lopez, the movie has a star-studded cast, including Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sadhguru, Derek Hough, and Ben Affleck. Dave Meyers, who is known for directing music videos like ‘No Tears Left to Cry‘ by Ariana Grande, is leading the project.
