Elon Musk and his tryst with Twitter have been a hot topic since April this year. After much bruhaha, the world’s richest man finally bought the company last month. He has since been making several drastic changes on the platform and often asks users to vote on certain things.
Recently, the Tesla CEO asked users if he should provide “amnesty” to suspended accounts that did not break the law. A majority of the vote was in favor of yes. So it will be interesting to see if Musk will implement this or not. Let’s try and find out the answers.
Elon Musk To Provide Amnesty To Suspended Accounts
Musk has been lately asking the opinion of Twitter users over certain things. Case in point unbanning Donald Trump, whom the masses wanted to see again on the platform.
The SpaceX founder once again asked people if he should provide “amnesty” to suspended accounts who didn’t do anything illegal. He asked, “Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?”

Almost 72 percent of people voted yes while 28 percent weren’t in favor of this idea. More than three million people voted for this survey. We can be assured that those accounts will be unbanned soon.
Musk Had Earlier Unbanned Donald Trump
Last week, former President Donald Trump’s account was reinstated on Twitter. Musk had conducted a poll wherein votes in favor of revoking the ban won by four percent.
More than 15 million Twitter users voted in the poll with 51.8 percent voting in favor of the unban. Trump’s account was suspended in 2021 following the Capitol Hill attacks, where he would tell his fans to march to the Capitol and also made claims about election fraud.
He was asked whether he plans to return to the site by a panel at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership. “I don’t see any reason for it,” Trump responded.
Apart from Trump, controversial figures like Kanye West and Kathy Griffin’s accounts were also reinstated recently on Twitter.
