Billie Eilish has finally returned to music as she took to social media to excitedly announce her third full-length album titled ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ styled in all uppercase. The ‘Bad Guy’ singer has been teasing this album for a long time with the help of billboards and cryptic lyrics.
After the mega success of her debut and sophomore albums, ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ and ‘Happier Than Ever’, the 9 times Grammy-winning singer is once again teaming up with brother Finneas for her third project, who has contributed as a co-writer and producer.
Her Instagram caption read, “So crazy to be writing this right now iIm nervyyyyy & exciteddd. Not doing singles I wanna give it to you all at once. Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it. Love you love you love you.”
Along with her announcement, a press announcement too was held that detailed more on what listeners can expect from the album, saying, “The album does exactly as the title suggests: hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically while bending genres and defying trends along the way. ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ journeys through a vast and expansive audio landscape, immersing listeners into a full spectrum of emotions. It’s what the multiple Grammy and Academy Award winner does best, continuing to affirm Billie Eilish as the most exciting songwriter of her time.”

Ecological Aspects Of The Album
The announcement also affirmed that the album is in line with Billie’s views on environmental and ecological issues, adding, “In a continued effort to minimize waste and combat climate change; across all physical formats in limited variants on the same day, with the same track-listing and using 100% recyclable materials. For more information on all sustainable practices for this album release, please visit the official website.” On the website, a detailed breakdown of everything that went into the making of the album is given.
This comes after Billie’s recent comments attacking big artists like Taylor Swift for releasing various versions of the same album, a result of which was intense backlash across all fandoms as everyone pointed her out for also releasing multiple variations of her album.
She later clarified her statement saying that her statement wasn’t shading or singling anyone out and was merely her opinion on sustainable materials being used for vinyls.
The album is coming out on May 13th.
