When Taylor Swift Date Harry Styles?
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles had a well-publicized romance that received a lot of attention from the media. They started dating in late 2012 and dated through 2013.
The two initially met at the Kids’ Choice Awards in 2012, and they were later spotted together in Central Park the following month. Owing to their statuses as global icons, their relationship was prey to a lot of scrutiny and public speculation.
The relationship, nevertheless, was brief and came to an end in 2013. According to reports their breakup was influenced by all the media attention they were getting which tore them apart. Some of Taylor Swift’s songs, such as ‘Out of the Woods‘ and ‘Style‘, were inspired by the split, which many fans and media outlets took as a reference to her relationship with Harry Styles. Is ‘Question’ About Harry Styles?
Some people noted that Taylor Swift uses the phrase “I remember” in the opening verse of ‘Question‘ and that the song’s musical style resembles ‘Out of the Woods’, which is a song from ‘1989‘ that Swift wrote about her relationship with Harry Styles. Some people brought up the fact that Swift and Styles kissed on New Year’s Eve 2013 in a crowd. This might have inspired the lyrics “Can I ask you a question? Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room?“
The bridge also sings, “Does it feel like everything’s just like second-best after that meteor strike? And what’s that, that I heard, that you’re still with her? That’s nice, I’m sure that’s what’s suitable.” This might be referring to Styles dating Olivia Wilde when Swift met him at the Grammy’s 2021.
Further on, the “Good girl, sad boy,” lyrics seem to be a reference to Swift’s song ‘Style‘ which was also written for him. There she sings, “And I got that good girl faith.”
Another lyrical parallel is “Before you painted all my nights a color I’ve searched for since” in ‘Question‘. She also sings “The rest of the world was black and white / But we were in screaming color,” in ‘Out Of The Woods‘.
Fans are now sure that the song is an ode to Taylor’s relationship with Harry Styles.
However, Taylor has not revealed which person her songs in ‘Midnights‘ are about. Except ‘Lavender Haze‘, which was dedicated to her now ex, Joe Alwyn.
