Fans may be hearing wedding bells soon as Lady Gaga recently talked about her fiance Michael Polansky in a recent Vogue interview, and how the businessman has been a constant source of support for Gaga throughout her career.
If there’s anyone fans need to thank for planting the idea of a pop record in Gaga’s head, it’s Polansky. Here’s everything Gaga revealed about their relationship, and how she knew she had found the right man for herself.
Michael Polansky Inspired Lady Gaga To Create A Pop Record
As she readies up for the release of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux‘, Lady Gaga is also set to release a new record, thanks to Michael Polansky who encouraged her to get back to the pop scene.
Talking to Vogue, Gaga said, “Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music.’” Polansky confirmed it and said, “Like anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean in to the joy of it. On the Chromatica tour, I saw a fire in her; I wanted to help her keep that alive all the time and just start making music that made her happy.”
She then talked about how the new album would reflect her relationship with Michael, saying, “Michael and I did that tour together. I feel like this new album, in a lot of ways, is about that time but from a place of happiness instead of misery. And now, Michael and I are really excited to organize our lives—and our marriage—around our creative output as a couple. Which is really different than, like, doing what other people want you to do.”

Lady Gaga Talks About What It Was Like For Her Mother To Meet Michael Polansky
Lady Gaga also confirmed that her soon-to-be-husband is well approved by her mother. In fact, she met him through Cynthia at a party and then continued to talk for weeks. “My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ I could never have imagined that my mom…found the most perfect person for me?”
As for Polansky’s first impression of Gaga, he said, “I didn’t know much about her and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness—she was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”
Lady Gaga then talked about how they could live as a normal couple during the pandemic as she said, “It was really kind of special. I’d been so focused on my career since I was a teenager. And the gift of that time was that I got to completely focus on my relationship. I met this totally supportive, loving human being who wanted to get to know me—outside of Lady Gaga.”

Polansky added a few words and said, “We had this amazing chapter of a weird kind of normalcy, that’s essential for any relationship to develop in a real way—taking walks, making coffee, hanging out with the dogs, reading books togethe. The pandemic was easier on her than you might think.”
“She’s used to being isolated because of her fame and was able to take so much of it in stride. I think she loved the chance to slow down. She’s been operating at an unfathomable level of intensity for years and it’s no secret it had caught up to her,” he added.
