It seems 2023 is a wonderful time to be a Swiftie! Thanks to Taylor Swift. After her re-release of ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)‘, a music video for one vault song and another Ice Spice featuring a remix from her last album ‘Midnights‘, lots and lots of fan interactions, and three-hour-long tour performances, just as she ended the US leg of her ‘Eras Tour’, Swift announced that she will be releasing her re-recorded version of ‘1989‘ this fall.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) Is On Its Way

On Wednesday, August 9, as she ended her last show in Las Vegas, Taylor Swift teased an announcement to all her fans. “Here we are on the last night of the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour in the eighth month of the year on the ninth day [of the month],” she began as fans shouted throughout the stadium. “There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously embarrassingly long time,” she continued. “And I think instead of just telling you about it, I think I should sort of show you something.”

The ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)‘ cover art flashed over the big screens at that moment, revealing Swift’s fourth re-recorded album would be released on Oct. 27, exactly nine years after it was first released in 2014.

Swift teased the album announcement by showing up in an all-blue set of costumes throughout the show. Fans were quick to notice these subtle hints as she’s quite known for dropping ‘easter eggs’. As a matter of fact, Swifties had already predicted that the show might be the one where she finally announces ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)‘. After the announcement she went on to reveal that the secret song for the night was ‘New Romantics‘ from the album ‘1989‘.
