It’s Taylor Swift‘s reign! The ‘Midnight Rain‘ singer has been breaking records this year, starting from her Eras tour to her MTV VMA wins. On September 12, the artist had eleven nominations in various categories of which nine awards were taken home by the songstress. And it’s not just a win for Swift, she’s making history.
The award night took off with an eye-catching performance by Sabrina Carpenter followed by Nicki Minaj hosting the gala. While Olivia Roderigo took the audience by surprise with a fake-out moment, Shakira set the stage on fire with her stunning moves and booming sound. But the fun night saw other pop singers including K-pop bands taking over the venue.

When Taylor Swift entered the Prudential Center, the singer had 11 nominations, and a total of 14 VMA Awards in total. But the night changed history. The ‘Champagne Problems’ singer marked her spot for most wins in one night, with nine trophies. This raised her overall award count to 23, overtaking the Queen of Pop, Madonna herself. However, she stands second to another pop star Beyoncé who has 26 solo wins (Not far behind).
Last year the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer made history by securing the ‘Video of the Year’ a third time. However, it seems like Swift is not gonna let go of the category anytime soon. She won in the category for a fourth time this year, making her the only artist who has this many wins. The pop icon received the award from NSYNC. It was her hit song Anti-Hero that helped Swift make significant wins. In addition, the artist also took home Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Show of the Summer, and Album of the Year.
