Swift has openly discussed the strong bond she shares with her mother Andrea. It can be seen in everything the singer does, from her thank-you speeches at award ceremonies to the soulful songs she’s written. One of the songs the lyrical genius wrote about her relationship with her mother is ‘The Best Day’ which she played in Philadelphia last year to honor her mom on Mother’s Day.

The singer did one of her little speeches before playing it. “I wrote this song just compiling these sort of core childhood memories I had of not just her as a mother, but her as a friend.” She narrated the scene from when she first played the song for Mama Swift, saying “It’s such a beautiful song. Where did you find it? It sounds exactly like the things we went through, ‘Mom, I wrote it and recorded it secretly, it is our memories. It was the sweetest thing ever because I just think she couldn’t have comprehended that I would write a song about the two of us.”

Apart from ‘The Best Day’ Swift has mentioned her mom in her songs ‘Never Grow Up’, ‘Dear John’ and ‘This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’. There is one more gem from her 2019 album ‘Lover’ that is dedicated to Andrea Swift entirely and it’s so emotional that the singer can’t even perform it without crying. ‘Soon You’ll Get Better’ is a song the singer wrote when her mother battling cancer. With lyrics like “In doctors office lighting, I didn’t tell you I was scared” and “You like nicer nurses,” Taylor creates a delicate world of hope and love.

Swift is a lover, she sprinkles a little of that wherever she goes by making sure her heart is known. Now there’s never really a bad show or crowd when it comes to the ‘Shake it Off’ songstress but putting them in the order of best is quite the task. That is because the ‘Karma’ singer has a habit of marking each of her stops with a beautiful memory and for Singapore, she has the perfect one.

The 34-year-old singer just performed her first show out of six that she is going to be playing throughout this week in Singapore. During the show, the ‘Never Grow Up’ singer took a moment to share a fun fact with the fans. She said, “My mom actually spent a lot of her childhood with her mom and dad and sister growing up in Singapore.”

Talking about her mother Andrea Swift’s childhood she added, “So a lot of the time when we’d come here on tour. My mom would take me and drive me past her old house, where she used to go to school. So I’ve been hearing about Singapore my whole life.” Way to make a city never forget you, Taylor.
