American rapper and songwriter, Travis Scott was arrested in Paris on 9 August 2024. The French authorities have confirmed to PEOPLE that the SICKO MODE singer was taken into custody on the morning of Friday. The singer was engaged in a fight with his bodyguard outside a five-star hotel.
Jacques Bermon Webster II, stage name Travis Scott, was at the French capital to attend the US basketball team’s semifinals in the Paris 2024 Olympics. A few hours later, the ‘Trance‘ singer was arrested for assaulting his bodyguard.

Travis Scott Arrested For Assault
Travis Scott was in Paris to attend the basketball semifinals between the USA and Serbia in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The match was held on 8 August 2024 at Bercy Arena. The next morning at 5 am, the police broke up a fight between the singer and his bodyguard outside George V Hotel. “I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, shortly after 5 a.m., the police were called to the Georges V Hotel and arrested the man nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” the prosecutor’s office stated.
A source close to Scott says that paparazzi swarmed the singer for multiple days. After being chased by another to his hotel early in the morning, Scott argued with his bodyguard over his security details. This is the second time in the year that the Goosebumps singer has been in trouble with the law. In June, Scott was arrested in Miami for disorderly intoxication and trespassing charges.
When Will Travis Be Released?
Scott was arrested after getting into an argument with his bodyguard at George V Hotel. Bradford Cohen, Travis’ attorney, states that no injuries were reported. Cohen says, “Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding.” Furthermore, sources report that Travis will be released shortly.
“There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution,” Cohen adds. People reports that the singer has no charges pressed on him. He is expected to be released soon.
