When Drake Dissed Megan Thee Stallion Over Tory Lanez Shooting Allegations

It has become the artistic norm to diss other fellow artists in rap songs. However, Drake has taken dissing to another level, so the bars seem weak as the artist is trying to make a certain point about an artist. Since the past few weeks, before the release of his new album ‘For All the Dogs’, the discourse has been about the rapper taking the spotlight from female rappers. Apart from that, he has gotten personal with other fellow female rappers by weaponizing their traumas. The rapper in point here is Megan Thee Stallion.

Recently, Megan Thee Stallion was relieved from a court battle with Tory Lanez over a shooting lawsuit. Stallion accused Lanez of shooting her in the foot at Kylie Jenner’s party. Now, the rapper has been sent to prison for 10 years on three counts, including carrying an unregistered firearm. Lanez mocked the ‘Savage’ rapper by belittling her allegations. But Tory was not the only one, as Drake also rapped about Megan’s case in a belittling manner.

In 2022, Drake and 21 Savage released a joint album titled ‘Her Loss’. On the album, the Canadian rapper dissed many of his fellow rappers. The list included Kanye West, Ice Spice, Pusha T, and others. In ‘Circo Loco’, Drake took a shot at Megan Thee Stallion over the Tory Lanez shooting case.

In December 2022, Tory Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. The ‘God’s Plan’ rapper had bars about the case, dissing Megan. The verse went, “This b***h lie ’bout gettin’ shots, but she still a stallion/She don’t even get the joke, but she still smilin’ “.

In a series of tweets, Megan Thee Stallion responded to the ‘Circo Loco’ lyrics, hinting at Tory Lanez and her case. Initially, she shut down any theories in any rap songs related to the case. However, in the third tweet, she called out Drake without naming names.

She wrote, “Stop using my shooting for clout bitch ass Niggas! Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot ! You niggas especially RAP NIGGAS ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her.”

One of the most complicated relationships in the business was that between Drake and Rihanna. The sparks went on on many occasions, but the relationship eventually fizzled out, and the two went their separate ways. The last time they teamed up was for ‘Work’ directed by Director X, who introduced Drake to Rihanna when she was shooting for the ‘Pon De Replay’ video in Toronto.

Rihanna has set the record straight: Drake and she are not friends anymore. She is now in a happy relationship with A$AP Rocky, who is parenting their two children. Recently, Drake released his new album, ‘To All the Dogs’. In the LP, there are tracks where he is dissing Rihanna.

On one of the tracks titled ‘Fear of Heights’, the rapper talks about having an average s** with Rihanna and referencing her last album ‘Anti’. He rapped, “I’m anti, I’m anti / Yeah, and the sex was average with you / Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you … / And I had way badder bitches than you, TBH.”
