Amy Winehouse‘s relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil was one of the most significant aspects of her life. The couple, who were married for almost three years, had a tumultuous relationship, which was mostly on and off because of Blake’s infidelity; which inadvertently affected Winehouse’s life in general.
After the separation, Blake got married to Sarah Aspin, whom he was linked to even while he was with Amy.
Amy Winehouse’s Marriage With Blake Fielder-Civil
Amy first met Blake in 2003 and according to people close to her, was immediately charmed. Her first manager Nick Godwyn said that “Amy changed overnight after she met Blake. She just sounded completely different. Her personality became more distant. And it seemed to me like that was down to the drugs. When I met her, she smoked weed but she thought the people who took class-A drugs were stupid. She used to laugh at them.”
The two had an intense relationship that had a lot of narcotics involved. Fielder-Civil was frequently dissed by the media and fans for influencing Amy to take drugs.
Fielder-Civil was in prison from July 21, 2008, to February 25, 2009, following an incident in 2007 in which he attacked a landlord of a pub, breaking the victim’s cheekbone. Subsequently, it was claimed that the victim was given a payment intended to weaken the legal case.
In 2011, a year after Amy passed away, Blake overdosed on alcohol and drugs, resulting in multiple organ failure. Currently, he has two kids, Jack and Lola with his ex-wife Sarah. As of now, he is rumored to be dating Bay Wright and residing in Leeds.
