The famous talent manager, Scooter Braun, is in deep trouble after major artists depart from Scooter Braun Projects (SB Projects). Braun started his career by organizing parties professionally in Atlanta. Later on, he went ahead as a marketing person for So So Def Records. He became famous for launching and managing the career of pop star Justin Bieber.
However, in recent times, artists like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have left Scooter Braun’s label. Grande has been with SB Projects since she started her career as a singer. She recorded six albums under the management of the talent manager, and now she is parting ways with him. Demi Lovato has also amicably left the management company in search of a new manager. The rumor is that Justin Bieber has also allegedly left management.
Who Is Scooter Braun?
Scooter Braun became a huge name in the music industry when he started his career with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Records. Scott Samuel Braun, aka Scooter Braun, launched his career at the age of 19 as a party organizer and promoter in Atlanta during his stint at Emory University. During an interview with Bloomberg, Scooter Braun said, “The path I chose wasn’t school. It wasn’t a 9-to-5. I wanted to make my own path.”
Scooter Braun was then spotted by Jermaine Dupri, who appointed him as the executive director of marketing at his record label. During that period, he met artists like Usher, with whom he started a record label named ‘Raymond Braun Media Group.’ In 2009, he went independent with his Scooter Braun Projects label.
Scooter became a renowned manager when he signed Justin Bieber in 2008 after discovering him on YouTube. He went miles to reach the ‘Peaches’ singer, and he finally convinced his mother to let her son come under his wings to become the global star that he is today. In 2013, post-Nickelodeon, he signed Ariana Grande, and since then, she has been part of his label. Currently, he manages artists like Usher, Ashley Graham, David Guetta, Ava Max, and the Black Eyed Peas. But many major artists are leaving his label, which includes Justin Bieber.

Why Artists Like Ariana Grande And Demi Lovato Are Leaving The Manager’s Label?
Recently, a source closer to Billboard told the outlet that Ariana Grande has parted ways with her longtime manager, Scooter Braun. Under Braun’s management, she delivered six albums with several No. 1 Billboard hits in her bag. The news comes ahead of the 10th anniversary of her debut album, ‘Yours Truly.’ She has announced live performances and the release of the deluxe edition of the album.
Now, Demi Lovato has also split with Scooter Braun after four years of being signed to his label. Braun signed Lovato in 2019 after her near-fatal overdose in 2018 to relaunch her career. However, Braun was not ready to sign her, but he changed her mind as he felt she needed a friend more than a manager. Under the label, she released two albums: ‘Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over’ and ‘Holy Fvck.’
The rumors are doing the rounds that Justin Bieber has also left SB Projects. As per Puck News, Justin Bieber has not spoken to Braun in months. Recently, the artist has gone through a career crisis where he has fired his entire team and replaced his lawyer and business manager. He is currently working with Britney Spears’ former manager, Lou Taylor. He sold his music rights to Hipgnosis Songs Capital for $200 million.
The reason for some major artists leaving SB Projects is still unknown. He sold the shares of Ithaca Holdings to South Korea’s HYBE for $1 billion. He is the CEO of HYBE America and a board member of the parent company. Due to this deal, he now has wealth worth billions.
