Why Did Roger Waters Re-Record Pink Floyd Album ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’?

Roger Waters has created an alternate version of the ‘Dark Side Of The Moon.’ The Pink Floyd musician went ahead and re-recorded the album. None of the members of Pink Floyd were consulted or involved with re-recording the album. Roger Waters decided of his own volition. In addition to music, Roger Waters has been causing quite a stir on the stage of world politics.

While addressing the United Nations Security Council, Waters blamed Ukraine for provoking Russia to go to battle with them. This remark has landed him in trouble. Roger Water’s upcoming music gigs have been canceled. This is the beginning of the trouble for the curmudgeon musician digging himself into a deeper and deeper hole.

The 79-year-old musician has no love lost for his band members. Referring to David Gilmour and the late Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright, he said they lacked enough ideas to craft meaningful music. He explicitly states despite being a unit, ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ was entirely his project, and he was the sole architect of it.

Dark Side Of The Moon‘ is the Greatest Album Of All Time. But Roger Waters believes the re-record was essential and had to be done “because not enough people recognized what it’s about, what it was I was saying then.” The new version will be released this year in May. It is unlikely, however, since Roger is in breach of copyright.

Roger Waters Claims Ukraine Is Responsible For The State Of War

The address to United Nations Security Councill was a disaster

In his United Nations Security Council address, Roger Waters condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, he added a little asterisk in his speech by saying Ukraine was the provocateur nation.

In his conversation with TelegraphRoger Waters saidThe Ukraine… is a deeply divided country. In fact, it’s not really a country at all, it’s only been there since Khrushchev, 1956. So it’s a patchy sort of vague experiment.”

The egregiously irresponsible remarks from Roger Waters have caused a public outcry. Ukraine’s Security Council delegate, Sergiy Kyslytsya, was of the opinion that “It is ironic, if not hypocritical that Mr Waters attempts now to whitewash another invasion. How sad for his former fans to see him accepting the role of just ‘a brick in the wall’, the wall of Russian disinformation and propaganda.”
