Netflix’s fantasy drama series ‘The Sandman‘ came out of nowhere and became popular with fans and critics. It is based on the 1989–1996 comic book written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics. Ever since it concluded in August, fans have been waiting for a second season.
We have good news for the fans as Netflix has renewed it for a second season. It doesn’t come as a surprise since the show was well-received for its visual effects, acting, and faithfulness towards the source material. So let’s find out more about its cast, plot, and release date.
‘The Sandman 2’: Plot, Cast And Release Date
Netflix’s ‘The Sandman‘ turned out to be a surprise success in 2022. Based on Gaiman‘s DC comic book series of the same name, it was in development for several years.
Now, the streamer has renewed it for a second season. We can expect it to release around late 2023 or early 2024. The first season had 10 episodes so the second one will also have the same number of episodes.
The first season adapted two graphic novel volumes so we can expect the next season will encompass Dream Country and The Season of Mists. The first one is a series of one-shot stories, including the popular ‘Dream of a Thousand Cats‘ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’
It can start from where the first season ended with Lucifer vowing revenge on Morpheus. There is no official confirmation on actors, but we can expect the principal cast to return.
