Are We Getting ‘The Society’ Season 2?
It was evident that the showrunners had planned for a second season even when season one was running. That is why we got a very exciting cliffhanger at the end of season one. And ‘The Society’ was also renewed for a second season in March 2020.
However, March 2020 was the fateful time of the pandemic. The world went through an unforeseen situation and our lives were turned upside down. Unfortunately for the fandom of ‘The Society’ the second season was also cancelled. The Netflix series was canceled in August 2020 and there seem to be no plans of renewing it as of now.

What Does Christopher Keyser Have To Say?
The cancellation of the Netflix series was heartbreaking for the fandom as well as the showrunners. “This wasn’t a normal cancellation. This wasn’t about not having the audience or we didn’t believe in it anymore. There was a global crisis that changed all of our lives in the one year we were able to make it,” says creator Christopher Keyser.
Christopher Keyser has been constantly asked in every interview about the renewal of ‘The Society‘. “The audience still wants to talk about it. They are still moved by it and want answers to the questions and then new questions are posed. I just don’t know whether the world is going to work in a way that aligns for us, but we’ll keep trying for a while because it’s gotten under my skin as well,” said Christopher Keyser in an interview.
He also thanked the fandom for keeping the show alive and continuously asking for a renewal. “Thank you for not letting the show go,” he says. “Things only live for a certain amount of time, and that’s just as long as people remember them. If this gets remembered, there’s not much else that people who make something for an audience can ask for.”
